Narrative:
On landing rollout on runway 21R at dtw at approximately XA35 local, we swerved to avoid an medium large transport aircraft on, or partially on, the runway. The aircraft had apparently taxied onto the runway by mistake and was heading north -- opposite to our landing roll. The aircraft was not illuminated by taxi or landing lights. Supplemental information from acn 254271: landed dtw --cleared to uniform ramp to hold until gate opened -- gate reported open by ground. Left ramp was instructed to taxi on wolf, cross runway 27, transition to outer, hold short of Y-7. After crossing runway 27 turned on Y-6. Passed outer, then first officer noted we were about to enter active runway. Turned right and stopped. Nose of aircraft was on active runway. Aircraft was landing. After aircraft passed, cleared runway, contacted ground, taxied to ramp. Called tower chief and reported what had transpired. He said he would follow up on his end. Called my chief pilot to follow up on proper procedure. Called union representative.

Title: AN ACR LGT HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS AN ACR MLG THAT MISTAKENLY TAXIED ONTO THE ACTIVE RWY.
Narrative: ON LNDG ROLLOUT ON RWY 21R AT DTW AT APPROX XA35 LCL, WE SWERVED TO AVOID AN MLG ACFT ON, OR PARTIALLY ON, THE RWY. THE ACFT HAD APPARENTLY TAXIED ONTO THE RWY BY MISTAKE AND WAS HDG N -- OPPOSITE TO OUR LNDG ROLL. THE ACFT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED BY TAXI OR LNDG LIGHTS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 254271: LANDED DTW --CLRED TO UNIFORM RAMP TO HOLD UNTIL GATE OPENED -- GATE RPTED OPEN BY GND. L RAMP WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI ON WOLF, CROSS RWY 27, TRANSITION TO OUTER, HOLD SHORT OF Y-7. AFTER XING RWY 27 TURNED ON Y-6. PASSED OUTER, THEN FO NOTED WE WERE ABOUT TO ENTER ACTIVE RWY. TURNED R AND STOPPED. NOSE OF ACFT WAS ON ACTIVE RWY. ACFT WAS LNDG. AFTER ACFT PASSED, CLRED RWY, CONTACTED GND, TAXIED TO RAMP. CALLED TWR CHIEF AND RPTED WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED. HE SAID HE WOULD FOLLOW UP ON HIS END. CALLED MY CHIEF PLT TO FOLLOW UP ON PROPER PROC. CALLED UNION REPRESENTATIVE.
