Narrative:
I received a message on my computer screen saying my flight into dfw had been diverted to dal. I had no prior knowledge of this diversion. I then asked the dispatch supervisor if he diverted the flight. He then said 'yeah, I diverted 4 of them.' operational control of this flight was lost temporarily due to the fact that a person other than the dispatcher made an operational decision and didn't bother to tell the appropriate dispatcher.
