Narrative:
Advised by ATC of target at 12 O'clock at 16400 ft. A TCASII target descended to 16000 ft and RA sounded to descend. We descended, notified ATC, and we were cleared to 15000 ft. We finally saw the target when we were 400 below him. It was opposite direction (head-on) and difficult to see. My compliments to TCASII.

Title: POTENTIAL CONFLICT, AVOIDED NMAC WITH DSNDING OPPOSITE DIRECTION TFC DUE TO TCASII RA.
Narrative: ADVISED BY ATC OF TARGET AT 12 O'CLOCK AT 16400 FT. A TCASII TARGET DSNDED TO 16000 FT AND RA SOUNDED TO DSND. WE DSNDED, NOTIFIED ATC, AND WE WERE CLRED TO 15000 FT. WE FINALLY SAW THE TARGET WHEN WE WERE 400 BELOW HIM. IT WAS OPPOSITE DIRECTION (HEAD-ON) AND DIFFICULT TO SEE. MY COMPLIMENTS TO TCASII.
