Narrative:
Copilot forgot to call for ATC route clearance before taxi out. Ground control, nor tower said anything and we were cleared for takeoff. Discovered problem when told to go to departure control. Possible explanation is the fact that we were a through flight ewr-pit-tol and our entire flight had been activated in ewr.

Narrative: COPLT FORGOT TO CALL FOR ATC RTE CLRNC BEFORE TAXI OUT. GND CTL, NOR TWR SAID ANYTHING AND WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. DISCOVERED PROB WHEN TOLD TO GO TO DEP CTL. POSSIBLE EXPLANATION IS THE FACT THAT WE WERE A THROUGH FLT EWR-PIT-TOL AND OUR ENTIRE FLT HAD BEEN ACTIVATED IN EWR.
