Narrative:
We were cleared to intercept an approximately 10 NM final on the localizer to runway 31R at dfw. We were heading northeast to intercept when advised by approach to expedite descent through 4000 ft. We had been cleared descent out of 4500 ft to 3500 ft. As we acknowledged the clearance to expedite the descent, we got a TCASII warning, first 'traffic, traffic' followed immediately by 'climb, climb.' we broke out between layers as we initiated required maneuver when we saw an medium large transport airline jet climbing towards us. We were able to maintain visual separation with the medium large transport until the conflict was resolved before continuing with the approach. Conflict resolution actions took about 5-10 seconds. We reported the incident to approach and he advised us the medium large transport was going to love field.

Title: WDB HAS TCASII RA ON DSCNT FOR APCH.
Narrative: WE WERE CLRED TO INTERCEPT AN APPROX 10 NM FINAL ON THE LOC TO RWY 31R AT DFW. WE WERE HDG NE TO INTERCEPT WHEN ADVISED BY APCH TO EXPEDITE DSCNT THROUGH 4000 FT. WE HAD BEEN CLRED DSCNT OUT OF 4500 FT TO 3500 FT. AS WE ACKNOWLEDGED THE CLRNC TO EXPEDITE THE DSCNT, WE GOT A TCASII WARNING, FIRST 'TFC, TFC' FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY 'CLB, CLB.' WE BROKE OUT BTWN LAYERS AS WE INITIATED REQUIRED MANEUVER WHEN WE SAW AN MLG AIRLINE JET CLBING TOWARDS US. WE WERE ABLE TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION WITH THE MLG UNTIL THE CONFLICT WAS RESOLVED BEFORE CONTINUING WITH THE APCH. CONFLICT RESOLUTION ACTIONS TOOK ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. WE RPTED THE INCIDENT TO APCH AND HE ADVISED US THE MLG WAS GOING TO LOVE FIELD.
