Narrative:
As a captain for air carrier airlines, I permitted an observer member of crew in civilian clothes to occupy seat in cabin. First flight attendant informed me that he had consumed an alcoholic beverage. I sent back my card telling him he could not drink alcohol and he demanded another from the flight attendant. She denied him any further alcohol and he was belligerent with her. I asked to speak to him at our destination and told him that he had compromised my crew by consuming alcohol on the flight. He refused to speak with me and stormed off. I have contacted pilot union national and will work with professional standards at air carrier to resolve this incident. I believe my actions and those of my first officer and flight attendants were appropriate. I also believe this pilot has compromised me by his actions.
