Narrative:
In level cruise flight during FAA observed line checks for a part 135 certificate, the left engine stopped. With 2 FAA inspectors on board and monitoring the flight, we shut down the left engine. The sic was flying and because of the vacuum failure his panel became slowly screwed up. We turned and descended from our clearance while he was following his altitude heading. We changed responsibilities and vacuum pumps and resumed heading and altitude and continued on to destination (pwa).
