Narrative:
After departing phx and flying runway heading with instructions to follow the departure that was published, we lost communications and navs became erratic to the point we were unable to decide if any, or which, might be correct. I elected to go VFR and turned back on right downwind to return to airport. After a very short period of time, everything began to work normally and the controller gave us headings back on course and we continued back on our normal flight plan.
