Narrative:

9 KT crosswind from north. Takeoff power called for, #2 engine 'banged' immediately and takeoff discontinued at 10-20 KTS. Exited runway and rechked all, then called for and was cleared for takeoff. Everything normal. Large transport engines are very prone to stall with a crosswind, so the event was not a surprise. No damage resulted, but I wish I had taxied back to gate for a maintenance check. Aircraft was checked at next stop and, as I knew, aircraft was ok. But, with the attitude of enforcement agencies, I wish I had gone back, to ensure every possible precaution taken. Better to hear complaints of 150 passenger than 1 FAA inspector.
