Narrative:
We were departing port huron, mi, an uncontrolled field, the captain of this flight announced to me shortly after takeoff that we were going to fly back over the airport. Without anything else said, this captain, the PF, proceeded to climb at a high rate of speed and altitude, then slowed the aircraft at 2-3000 ft above the field and dived back towards the airport for a low altitude high speed pass at approximately 350 KTS. I must emphasize that, for all intents and purposes, I was treated as a passenger by this captain, as I always am. This captain acts unilaterally on all decisions that are made in flight without any regards for the safety and concern of others. Moreover, the captain is routinely describing his physical feats in dominating others -- I know from his remarks in the past that he would not hesitate to use physical force against anyone who objected to his flying, much less tried to stop him from doing something he was in the process of. I was pwrless to act.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A CPR LTT MADE A LOW PASS AT AN UNCTLED ARPT.
Narrative: WE WERE DEPARTING PORT HURON, MI, AN UNCTLED FIELD, THE CAPT OF THIS FLT ANNOUNCED TO ME SHORTLY AFTER TKOF THAT WE WERE GOING TO FLY BACK OVER THE ARPT. WITHOUT ANYTHING ELSE SAID, THIS CAPT, THE PF, PROCEEDED TO CLB AT A HIGH RATE OF SPD AND ALT, THEN SLOWED THE ACFT AT 2-3000 FT ABOVE THE FIELD AND DIVED BACK TOWARDS THE ARPT FOR A LOW ALT HIGH SPD PASS AT APPROX 350 KTS. I MUST EMPHASIZE THAT, FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES, I WAS TREATED AS A PAX BY THIS CAPT, AS I ALWAYS AM. THIS CAPT ACTS UNILATERALLY ON ALL DECISIONS THAT ARE MADE IN FLT WITHOUT ANY REGARDS FOR THE SAFETY AND CONCERN OF OTHERS. MOREOVER, THE CAPT IS ROUTINELY DESCRIBING HIS PHYSICAL FEATS IN DOMINATING OTHERS -- I KNOW FROM HIS REMARKS IN THE PAST THAT HE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO USE PHYSICAL FORCE AGAINST ANYONE WHO OBJECTED TO HIS FLYING, MUCH LESS TRIED TO STOP HIM FROM DOING SOMETHING HE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF. I WAS PWRLESS TO ACT.
