Narrative:

In the holding pattern at aries intersection on approach to nrt, japan, we observed another aircraft on TCASII showing plus 700 ft turning directly towards us. We discovered our altimeters were still set at 29.92, qnh was 30.18, which put us at 11260 ft MSL, other aircraft was at 12000 ft. We reset altimeters and descended to 11000 ft. Our checklist calls for resetting altimeters at FL180 on descent. Transition altitude in japan is FL140. In programming a last min holding pattern and deciding whether to proceed to our altitude, we missed resetting altimeter at FL140.
