Narrative:
After takeoff noticed (immediately) that left aileron control lock was still in place. Circled back to land using rudder. Copilot then removed control lock. Normal checklist was run, but somehow a distraction had occurred at the time of 'controls - check.' this will never happen again.

Title: TKOF WITH AILERON CTL LOCK NOT REMOVED.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF NOTICED (IMMEDIATELY) THAT L AILERON CTL LOCK WAS STILL IN PLACE. CIRCLED BACK TO LAND USING RUDDER. COPLT THEN REMOVED CTL LOCK. NORMAL CHKLIST WAS RUN, BUT SOMEHOW A DISTR HAD OCCURRED AT THE TIME OF 'CTLS - CHK.' THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.
