Narrative:
Returned to grb, because of mechanical. Wrote up problem in the maintenance log can. Called maintenance and dispatch, described the problem. Maintenance crew was called, the problem fixed, and signed off. On our merry way we went. Due to fatigue and tiredness, on the descent portion into ord from grb. I asked the first officer for the log. We then discovered that the (maintenance log) flight log was left in grb. I was given 30 days off by the airline. The airline reported to the FAA that the flight flew without the maintenance flight logbook that is required to be north the aircraft. This airline is an upstart in bad shape. Lots of flying, long duty hours, stand up over nights. Lots of new workers, pilots, dispatchers, crew schedulers, flight attendants, ramp people, mechanics. Us experienced pilots are baby-sitting constantly. My chief pilot said he had to give me time off to satisfy the FAA. My other encounter was submitted approximately 30 days ago because of my 30 in 7 time.
