Narrative:
On takeoff power up we received the takeoff confign warning. I immediately applied nose down trim thinking that our takeoff setting (which was near aft limit of green arc) may have been out of limit. This did not silence the warning so we rejected takeoff and cleared runway. We had not reached takeoff power and speed was less than 60 KTS. After we cleared runway we checked our takeoff confign and it was normal. We recycled the speed brake, landed and no longer received takeoff warning. We taxied back and departed uneventfully. In rochester, ny, our destination, the captain informed our dispatcher and the duty officer. Note: all checklists had been completed and the aircraft was in the proper confign prior to takeoff.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG ACR ACFT ABORTED TKOF DUE TO THE TKOF CONFIGN WARNING INDICATION DURING THE START OF THE TKOF ROLL. THE SPD BRAKE WAS RECYCLED AND THE WARNING DISAPPEARED.
Narrative: ON TKOF PWR UP WE RECEIVED THE TKOF CONFIGN WARNING. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED NOSE DOWN TRIM THINKING THAT OUR TKOF SETTING (WHICH WAS NEAR AFT LIMIT OF GREEN ARC) MAY HAVE BEEN OUT OF LIMIT. THIS DID NOT SILENCE THE WARNING SO WE REJECTED TKOF AND CLRED RWY. WE HAD NOT REACHED TKOF PWR AND SPD WAS LESS THAN 60 KTS. AFTER WE CLRED RWY WE CHKED OUR TKOF CONFIGN AND IT WAS NORMAL. WE RECYCLED THE SPD BRAKE, LANDED AND NO LONGER RECEIVED TKOF WARNING. WE TAXIED BACK AND DEPARTED UNEVENTFULLY. IN ROCHESTER, NY, OUR DEST, THE CAPT INFORMED OUR DISPATCHER AND THE DUTY OFFICER. NOTE: ALL CHKLISTS HAD BEEN COMPLETED AND THE ACFT WAS IN THE PROPER CONFIGN PRIOR TO TKOF.
