Narrative:
ATC advised us of traffic at 14900 ft unverified. We were at 15000 ft in IMC conditions. Traffic converged. We got a TA on TCASII then almost immediately an RA to climb. I initiated a climb to 16000 ft and advised ATC. No traffic was seen due to the clouds. ATC said they would track the target and investigate. No heading change was offered by ATC. We had about 10 seconds from initial advice by ATC until the RA told us to climb.
