Narrative:

Heading towards key west on UB646, havana gave us a vector north of course (030 degree heading) for a climb to FL370. At FL370, we were cleared direct key west. Later, after checking in with ZMA, we were told to squawk 7700 because we were in a warning area. ZMA said the squawk was done as part of a LOA with the military. He stated that havana should not have given us the north vector, but it had created no problems with other traffic. Apparently havana did not contact ZMA about our vector to the north.

Narrative: HDG TOWARDS KEY WEST ON UB646, HAVANA GAVE US A VECTOR N OF COURSE (030 DEG HDG) FOR A CLB TO FL370. AT FL370, WE WERE CLRED DIRECT KEY WEST. LATER, AFTER CHKING IN WITH ZMA, WE WERE TOLD TO SQUAWK 7700 BECAUSE WE WERE IN A WARNING AREA. ZMA SAID THE SQUAWK WAS DONE AS PART OF A LOA WITH THE MIL. HE STATED THAT HAVANA SHOULD NOT HAVE GIVEN US THE N VECTOR, BUT IT HAD CREATED NO PROBS WITH OTHER TFC. APPARENTLY HAVANA DID NOT CONTACT ZMA ABOUT OUR VECTOR TO THE N.
