Narrative:

Prior to pushback, while the brakes were set and checks in, a ground tug attempted to hook up to our medium large transport freighter aircraft. During this attempt to hook up, the tow bar impacted the nose gear assembly with sufficient force to collapse the nose gear. The crew effected a shutdown of the aircraft and evacuated. There were no injuries. Supplemental information from acn 262946: ramp was covered in frozen snow/ice. Tug driver was trying to hook up by himself. Extensive damage to nose gear doors. Contributing factors would include: only one person hooking up tug to towbar. Ramp conditions -- icy. General WX -- negative 5 degrees F. Tug driver had just completed another very difficult pushback and may have been upset/careless.
