Narrative:
In IMC northbound from mty to dfw TCASII advised of approaching traffic. Traffic was climbing sbound. ZHU gave a turn to climbing traffic (later idented by a phone conversation as a citation) and a 40 degree right turn to an air carrier aebd. We were flight adbd. We questioned the clearance asking if it was for abbd, then corrected to adbd. Traffic now became a TA on TCASII still climbing, 700 ft below us. Other aircraft chatter on frequency. We were unable to confirm turn instructions. Moments later, center issued us a descent to FL310. With traffic less than 7 mi ahead and less than 700 ft below, we decided that was not a good idea. About this time TCASII issued a climb RA. We began a climb and turned off course east, advised ATC of RA and response at FL340 and about 070 degree heading we received a clear of conflict advisory from TCASII. We were approximately 3.5 east of course when we began correcting back to FL330 and northbound to sat. Some comments from ZHU about the RA, a phone number to call upon arrival at dfw then frequency change.

Title: ACR HAS TCASII ALERT ALONG WITH CALL SIGN CONFUSION BY CTLR AND FLC.
Narrative: IN IMC NBOUND FROM MTY TO DFW TCASII ADVISED OF APCHING TFC. TFC WAS CLBING SBOUND. ZHU GAVE A TURN TO CLBING TFC (LATER IDENTED BY A PHONE CONVERSATION AS A CITATION) AND A 40 DEG R TURN TO AN ACR AEBD. WE WERE FLT ADBD. WE QUESTIONED THE CLRNC ASKING IF IT WAS FOR ABBD, THEN CORRECTED TO ADBD. TFC NOW BECAME A TA ON TCASII STILL CLBING, 700 FT BELOW US. OTHER ACFT CHATTER ON FREQ. WE WERE UNABLE TO CONFIRM TURN INSTRUCTIONS. MOMENTS LATER, CTR ISSUED US A DSCNT TO FL310. WITH TFC LESS THAN 7 MI AHEAD AND LESS THAN 700 FT BELOW, WE DECIDED THAT WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA. ABOUT THIS TIME TCASII ISSUED A CLB RA. WE BEGAN A CLB AND TURNED OFF COURSE E, ADVISED ATC OF RA AND RESPONSE AT FL340 AND ABOUT 070 DEG HDG WE RECEIVED A CLR OF CONFLICT ADVISORY FROM TCASII. WE WERE APPROX 3.5 E OF COURSE WHEN WE BEGAN CORRECTING BACK TO FL330 AND NBOUND TO SAT. SOME COMMENTS FROM ZHU ABOUT THE RA, A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL UPON ARR AT DFW THEN FREQ CHANGE.
