Narrative:
We were turned into final for a visual to 19R at sfo (by bay approach), behind a 747 arriving from the north who was crossing the 19R final for a visual approach to 19L. When both aircraft were aligned on final, we were nearly abreast but slightly ahead of the 747. His aircraft was giving us a continual RA on the TCASII. I was flying the aircraft and I reached over to turn off the TCASII. I inadvertently turned the transponder off as well. On the ground, I was asked to contact the tower supervisor, which I did -- and I explained to him what had happened.
