Narrative:
Level at 6000 ft eastbound on arrival to fll under control of approach control. Excellent visibility. Approach pointed out small jet at 1 O'clock climbing through our altitude. Acquired him visually, and as it closed TCASII showed approximately 800 ft vertical separation. I guess he got inside our 'bubble' with less than 1000 ft separation. Because TCASII gave an RA to descend. Advised approach and started down. After losing only 100 ft (to 5900 ft) RA ceased. Advised approach that we only had descended to 5900 ft and climbed back to assigned altitude of 6000 ft MSL. Too many TCASII advisories when there is no real danger of collision. Ought to be fixed because of danger of crying wolf too often.

Title: WDB TAKES EVASIVE ACTION WHEN TCASII RA RECEIVED.
Narrative: LEVEL AT 6000 FT EBOUND ON ARR TO FLL UNDER CTL OF APCH CTL. EXCELLENT VISIBILITY. APCH POINTED OUT SMALL JET AT 1 O'CLOCK CLBING THROUGH OUR ALT. ACQUIRED HIM VISUALLY, AND AS IT CLOSED TCASII SHOWED APPROX 800 FT VERT SEPARATION. I GUESS HE GOT INSIDE OUR 'BUBBLE' WITH LESS THAN 1000 FT SEPARATION. BECAUSE TCASII GAVE AN RA TO DSND. ADVISED APCH AND STARTED DOWN. AFTER LOSING ONLY 100 FT (TO 5900 FT) RA CEASED. ADVISED APCH THAT WE ONLY HAD DSNDED TO 5900 FT AND CLBED BACK TO ASSIGNED ALT OF 6000 FT MSL. TOO MANY TCASII ADVISORIES WHEN THERE IS NO REAL DANGER OF COLLISION. OUGHT TO BE FIXED BECAUSE OF DANGER OF CRYING WOLF TOO OFTEN.
