Narrative:
After gaining about 200-300 ft altitude the cabin door loosened and opened. Had already received a clearance from fort myers ATC for the takeoff and departure, which is remote arrangement. The min this occurred, we called for myers, canceled the IFR departure and continued VFR. We made a right hand pattern to marco island, landed and assessed the door problem. The door was re-closed and it was locked satisfactorily to return to the procedure and takeoff for the instrument flight plan. The instrument flight plan was then reactivated and carried out with no further problems or difficulties. The only concern here is that ATC may have had some bad attitude about the situation that we had to cancel the IFR and return to the airport to adjust the door on the airplane. There was no risk involved in this particular situation other than the inconvenience of the delayed flight.

Title: THE PAX DOOR POPPED OPEN ON A BEECH BARON RIGHT AFTER TKOF.
Narrative: AFTER GAINING ABOUT 200-300 FT ALT THE CABIN DOOR LOOSENED AND OPENED. HAD ALREADY RECEIVED A CLRNC FROM FORT MYERS ATC FOR THE TKOF AND DEP, WHICH IS REMOTE ARRANGEMENT. THE MIN THIS OCCURRED, WE CALLED FOR MYERS, CANCELED THE IFR DEP AND CONTINUED VFR. WE MADE A R HAND PATTERN TO MARCO ISLAND, LANDED AND ASSESSED THE DOOR PROB. THE DOOR WAS RE-CLOSED AND IT WAS LOCKED SATISFACTORILY TO RETURN TO THE PROC AND TKOF FOR THE INST FLT PLAN. THE INST FLT PLAN WAS THEN REACTIVATED AND CARRIED OUT WITH NO FURTHER PROBS OR DIFFICULTIES. THE ONLY CONCERN HERE IS THAT ATC MAY HAVE HAD SOME BAD ATTITUDE ABOUT THE SIT THAT WE HAD TO CANCEL THE IFR AND RETURN TO THE ARPT TO ADJUST THE DOOR ON THE AIRPLANE. THERE WAS NO RISK INVOLVED IN THIS PARTICULAR SIT OTHER THAN THE INCONVENIENCE OF THE DELAYED FLT.
