Narrative:

Landing cle, at 6000 ft downwind, we were asked if we had traffic at about 11 O'clock and 4 mi and could we maintain visual separation. We said yes. We were cleared for the visual runway 23L (I think he was at 6000 ft also). We extended speed brake and started down (about 4000 FPM). As the traffic passed 12 O'clock, we received a TA on the TCASII. We increased rate of descent and started a left turn to pass behind the traffic. We then received an RA to climb. (I think our traffic started down.) our rate of descent was about 6000 FPM, so we continued down and passed about 400-500 ft below and about 1/2 mi behind traffic.

Title: AN AIRBORNE CONFLICT OF A MINOR NATURE BTWN 2 ACR ACFT AT CLE.

Narrative: LNDG CLE, AT 6000 FT DOWNWIND, WE WERE ASKED IF WE HAD TFC AT ABOUT 11 O'CLOCK AND 4 MI AND COULD WE MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION. WE SAID YES. WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL RWY 23L (I THINK HE WAS AT 6000 FT ALSO). WE EXTENDED SPD BRAKE AND STARTED DOWN (ABOUT 4000 FPM). AS THE TFC PASSED 12 O'CLOCK, WE RECEIVED A TA ON THE TCASII. WE INCREASED RATE OF DSCNT AND STARTED A L TURN TO PASS BEHIND THE TFC. WE THEN RECEIVED AN RA TO CLB. (I THINK OUR TFC STARTED DOWN.) OUR RATE OF DSCNT WAS ABOUT 6000 FPM, SO WE CONTINUED DOWN AND PASSED ABOUT 400-500 FT BELOW AND ABOUT 1/2 MI BEHIND TFC.
