Narrative:
Crew was scheduled for and received crew meals around XA30 in dca. Meals included a chicken-pasta salad, cookies, potato chips. The last 2 items were missing in my captain and flight attendant's meals, so I gave them mine. Both flight attendant and myself ate salad before departing dca. 10-15 mins after departure, I started feeling bad: nausea, gastro-intestinal discomfort, etc. Since all my symptoms were increasing rapidly, I advised captain that I did not feel well enough to perform my flight duties. After landing in crw, ran to the closest bathroom and emerged not feeling much better. Unscheduled crew ron in crw. Compared notes with captain and flight attendant the next day. Flight attendant became sick during that night but felt well enough to fly the next day. Captain admitted that he was not feeling too well himself (he had only nibbled on his salad and ate my potato chips and cookies) during the last segment of the flight. I firmly believe that the chicken-pasta salad is to blame for my indisposition. Filed company incident report and mentioned that crew meal delivery and storage procedures and facilities in dca are inadequate. Contributing factor: all 3 meals were identical. Luckily captain decided not to eat his salad or this incident might have had a difficult conclusion. Company insists that flight deck crew meals do not have to be different. Moral: never give up your junk food. It can actually be good for you.

Title: FLC CABIN ATTENDANT BEHAVIOR INCAPACITATION DUE TO FOOD POISONING.
Narrative: CREW WAS SCHEDULED FOR AND RECEIVED CREW MEALS AROUND XA30 IN DCA. MEALS INCLUDED A CHICKEN-PASTA SALAD, COOKIES, POTATO CHIPS. THE LAST 2 ITEMS WERE MISSING IN MY CAPT AND FLT ATTENDANT'S MEALS, SO I GAVE THEM MINE. BOTH FLT ATTENDANT AND MYSELF ATE SALAD BEFORE DEPARTING DCA. 10-15 MINS AFTER DEP, I STARTED FEELING BAD: NAUSEA, GASTRO-INTESTINAL DISCOMFORT, ETC. SINCE ALL MY SYMPTOMS WERE INCREASING RAPIDLY, I ADVISED CAPT THAT I DID NOT FEEL WELL ENOUGH TO PERFORM MY FLT DUTIES. AFTER LNDG IN CRW, RAN TO THE CLOSEST BATHROOM AND EMERGED NOT FEELING MUCH BETTER. UNSCHEDULED CREW RON IN CRW. COMPARED NOTES WITH CAPT AND FLT ATTENDANT THE NEXT DAY. FLT ATTENDANT BECAME SICK DURING THAT NIGHT BUT FELT WELL ENOUGH TO FLY THE NEXT DAY. CAPT ADMITTED THAT HE WAS NOT FEELING TOO WELL HIMSELF (HE HAD ONLY NIBBLED ON HIS SALAD AND ATE MY POTATO CHIPS AND COOKIES) DURING THE LAST SEGMENT OF THE FLT. I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE CHICKEN-PASTA SALAD IS TO BLAME FOR MY INDISPOSITION. FILED COMPANY INCIDENT RPT AND MENTIONED THAT CREW MEAL DELIVERY AND STORAGE PROCS AND FACILITIES IN DCA ARE INADEQUATE. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR: ALL 3 MEALS WERE IDENTICAL. LUCKILY CAPT DECIDED NOT TO EAT HIS SALAD OR THIS INCIDENT MIGHT HAVE HAD A DIFFICULT CONCLUSION. COMPANY INSISTS THAT FLT DECK CREW MEALS DO NOT HAVE TO BE DIFFERENT. MORAL: NEVER GIVE UP YOUR JUNK FOOD. IT CAN ACTUALLY BE GOOD FOR YOU.
