Narrative:
Taxiing at slc for departure to phx, captain called for flaps (set for takeoff), no movements of flaps. We recycled the flaps and they (operated) as normal, and operated normally the entire flight. The (company ground personnel) overheard the captain discussing this with maintenance and (then) he wrote it up. However, the captain entered the flaps (as) had to be recycled in-flight. Supplemental information from acn 267357: upon arrival at phx, I briefed a new crew on the glitch, was overheard by the FAA, and advised to enter it in the log. I was disconcerted to find that others might view my actions as an attempt to 'hip-pocket' a write-up.
