Narrative:

I had done a run-up before departure, magnetos checked and carburetor heat checked. I taxied to runway 29 and departed. At approximately 100 ft elevation I lost power. Checked fuel and magnetos -- both ok. Fuel was on both and magnetos on both. That was all the time I had. I turned 90 degrees right to land on a road, missed the road by 20 ft, bounced once and engine returned to full power. Area I bounced in was a gravel pit (no houses, etc). Returned to airport, landed -- no damage. Had air intake checked, pulled fuel screen, and checked electrical -- all ok. Suspect carburetor ice and have changed heat procedures. Have flown 5 hours since -- no further occurrences.
