Narrative:
At vr, #3 engine nacelle overheat light illuminated (L1011) with both loops indicating an overheat. We climbed to 1000 ft, then followed the procedure in the pilot's operating manual. When the so protected essential power in his procedure, the captain's compass skewed 60 degrees to the right. Repeated cycling of the magnetic directional gyro compass switch regained the system. Due to the length of the lga runways and the weight, we decided to divert to jfk. During our initial approach to jfk we go an aircraft cargo warning light. We declared an emergency and proceeded to jfk and landed without further incident.

Title: AN ACR 1011 HAD ENG OVERHEAT WARNING AT TKOF.
Narrative: AT VR, #3 ENG NACELLE OVERHEAT LIGHT ILLUMINATED (L1011) WITH BOTH LOOPS INDICATING AN OVERHEAT. WE CLBED TO 1000 FT, THEN FOLLOWED THE PROC IN THE PLT'S OPERATING MANUAL. WHEN THE SO PROTECTED ESSENTIAL PWR IN HIS PROC, THE CAPT'S COMPASS SKEWED 60 DEGS TO THE R. REPEATED CYCLING OF THE MAGNETIC DIRECTIONAL GYRO COMPASS SWITCH REGAINED THE SYS. DUE TO THE LENGTH OF THE LGA RWYS AND THE WT, WE DECIDED TO DIVERT TO JFK. DURING OUR INITIAL APCH TO JFK WE GO AN ACFT CARGO WARNING LIGHT. WE DECLARED AN EMER AND PROCEEDED TO JFK AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
