Narrative:
Flight pushed on time. Waited about 20 mins for thunderstorm. We made a VFR departure to the east from runway 8L at ontario. At about 2 mi we encountered light hail for less than 10 seconds. After landing in smf we discovered both outboard landing light bulbs were broken. There was no other damage to the aircraft. Had the retractable landing lights not been extended, they would not have been broken.
