Narrative:
I was working 2 aircraft and lost separation. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated types of aircraft were air carrier ATR and cpr king air. Reporter had just relieved the position from a trainee. Traffic was complex. Both aircraft on vectors pointed at each other. Reporter admitted forgetting king air. Conflict alert did not activate. Reporter descended air carrier but too late. Separation was 1.4 mi. Operational error filed by facility. Reporter was only on position for a total of 3 mins.
