Narrative:
On this day, there was a large area of frontal related thunderstorm activity extending from near st louis to central texas. I was working the southeast sector of the united states with numerous flts being affected by WX related items such as: WX avoidance routings, ATC rertes, unplanned fuel lndgs due to extensive rertes, aircraft mechanical problems en route, significant and changing meteorological conditions, sigmets, etc. Due to a large volume of flts in the air and an overwhelming number of associated problems, I was unable to provide in a timely fashion to several PIC, the significant WX phenomena (sigmets) that existed. Management did not provide an adequate number of dispatchers to comply with far 121.395. Due to excessive workload I failed to comply with far 121.533 and 121.601 in a timely fashion.

I WAS WORKING THE SE SECTOR OF THE UNITED STATES WITH NUMEROUS FLTS BEING AFFECTED BY WX RELATED ITEMS SUCH AS: WX AVOIDANCE ROUTINGS, ATC RERTES, UNPLANNED FUEL LNDGS DUE TO EXTENSIVE RERTES, ACFT MECHANICAL PROBS ENRTE, SIGNIFICANT AND CHANGING METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS, SIGMETS, ETC. DUE TO A LARGE VOLUME OF FLTS IN THE AIR AND AN OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF ASSOCIATED PROBS, I WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE IN A TIMELY FASHION TO SEVERAL PIC, THE SIGNIFICANT WX PHENOMENA (SIGMETS) THAT EXISTED. MGMNT DID NOT PROVIDE AN ADEQUATE NUMBER OF DISPATCHERS TO COMPLY WITH FAR 121.395. DUE TO EXCESSIVE WORKLOAD I FAILED TO COMPLY WITH FAR 121.533 AND 121.601 IN A TIMELY FASHION.
