Narrative:
ADF approach to bogota, columbia, by the book but GPWS warning sink rate 'terrain, terrain' sounded missed approach and rollout indicated immediate climb -- caused by descent rate initiated. GPWS sensed high terrain not a factor but mode 2A not in full landing confign led to warning. Tower changed us to approach. Approach turned us back to NDB/VOR potential conflict with another inbound. Warning stopped at 13300 ft inbound was 13000 ft descending to 12000 ft. I continued climb to 14000 ft advising approach I was visual on the traffic. TCASII advisory of traffic also sounded. I was turning south to complete normal missed approach when approach control had me turn right to 310 degrees into potential conflict. Situational awareness of inbounds probable altitude avoided mishap.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF WDB MADE A MISSED APCH BECAUSE OF A GPWS WARNING AND SUBSEQUENTLY TOOK EVASIVE ACTION IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA AND CLBED ABOVE MISSED APCH HOLDING ALT.
Narrative: ADF APCH TO BOGOTA, COLUMBIA, BY THE BOOK BUT GPWS WARNING SINK RATE 'TERRAIN, TERRAIN' SOUNDED MISSED APCH AND ROLLOUT INDICATED IMMEDIATE CLB -- CAUSED BY DSCNT RATE INITIATED. GPWS SENSED HIGH TERRAIN NOT A FACTOR BUT MODE 2A NOT IN FULL LNDG CONFIGN LED TO WARNING. TWR CHANGED US TO APCH. APCH TURNED US BACK TO NDB/VOR POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER INBOUND. WARNING STOPPED AT 13300 FT INBOUND WAS 13000 FT DSNDING TO 12000 FT. I CONTINUED CLB TO 14000 FT ADVISING APCH I WAS VISUAL ON THE TFC. TCASII ADVISORY OF TFC ALSO SOUNDED. I WAS TURNING S TO COMPLETE NORMAL MISSED APCH WHEN APCH CTL HAD ME TURN R TO 310 DEGS INTO POTENTIAL CONFLICT. SITUATIONAL AWARENESS OF INBOUNDS PROBABLE ALT AVOIDED MISHAP.
