Narrative:
Section X on may/sun/94, normally blocked for 07:05 hours, was exceeded by 01:35 giving myself and my first officer a total block for the day of 08:40. This section is unrealistically blocked because we over blocked every leg by 5-15 mins over an 8 leg day. However, I understand that this is beyond our control and since the section was legal to start, it was legal to finish. The problem was that we also ended up at 34:15 hours for the 7 days up to and including this section. I usually keep a very close eye on these times to avoid exceeding any limitations, but during the course of this section, it was all we could do just to keep ourselves alert to the actual flying. It was not until the following day, when I had rested and could think more clearly, that I added up the times and realized our mistake. We overflew our 34 hour in 7 days by :15 mins. I guess there's really no excuse, but to watch it more closely in the future. However, the scheduling practices of our company definitely leave something to be desired as far as safety and crew fatigue go. It's difficult to tell them that you're too tired to fly, and while being too tired, you risk the safety of the passenger, and risk making stupid mistakes like this one.

Title: PART 135 FLC OVERFLIES THE 34 HRS IN 7 DAYS BY :15 MINS, A VIOLATION BUT WITH AN EXCEPTION.
Narrative: SECTION X ON MAY/SUN/94, NORMALLY BLOCKED FOR 07:05 HRS, WAS EXCEEDED BY 01:35 GIVING MYSELF AND MY FO A TOTAL BLOCK FOR THE DAY OF 08:40. THIS SECTION IS UNREALISTICALLY BLOCKED BECAUSE WE OVER BLOCKED EVERY LEG BY 5-15 MINS OVER AN 8 LEG DAY. HOWEVER, I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS BEYOND OUR CTL AND SINCE THE SECTION WAS LEGAL TO START, IT WAS LEGAL TO FINISH. THE PROB WAS THAT WE ALSO ENDED UP AT 34:15 HRS FOR THE 7 DAYS UP TO AND INCLUDING THIS SECTION. I USUALLY KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE ON THESE TIMES TO AVOID EXCEEDING ANY LIMITATIONS, BUT DURING THE COURSE OF THIS SECTION, IT WAS ALL WE COULD DO JUST TO KEEP OURSELVES ALERT TO THE ACTUAL FLYING. IT WAS NOT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING DAY, WHEN I HAD RESTED AND COULD THINK MORE CLRLY, THAT I ADDED UP THE TIMES AND REALIZED OUR MISTAKE. WE OVERFLEW OUR 34 HR IN 7 DAYS BY :15 MINS. IT'S DIFFICULT TO TELL THEM THAT YOU'RE TOO TIRED TO FLY, AND WHILE BEING TOO TIRED, YOU RISK THE SAFETY OF THE PAX, AND RISK MAKING STUPID MISTAKES LIKE THIS ONE.
