Narrative:
Landed behind another aircraft which had rolled to end of runway. I believed aircraft would clear at end on taxiway but taxiway was closed due to construction which was not visible to us. Our airport information did not note any taxiway closures. We corrected the airport information. We did not come within 2000-3000 ft of other aircraft, but still feel this was a bad situation that could have turned worse. Other aircraft did not say he would not be able to clear runway but just said he would hold at end of runway for us. Still, it was clearly not his fault but a combination of lack of information, poor communications and assuming he would clear when he could not! Supplemental information from acn 272208: we told company to update information. Another assumption which proved incorrect!
