Narrative:
Cargo smoke light illuminated during cruise. So checked cargo area best he could due to the large containers in back. Found absolutely no indication of fire or smoke. Did not comply with emergency checklist. Continued to destination without further incident. Found no evidence of fire or smoke after landing during check of cargo. Checklist says to depressurize aircraft and land as soon as possible. Did not comply with checklist because of 2 reasons: 1) no evidence of smoke or fire (by sight or smell). 2) crossing over a line of thunderstorms.
