Narrative:
I was landing in an open field and touched down just as a thermal caught the balloon envelope and carried me back into the air. The top (parachute valve) was fully open. Another balloon over me was caught in the same thermal and hit the top of my balloon tearing one panel (cloth) out with his basket. We came straight down and hit hard. No one was hurt. The balloon system has been inspected and repaired at a repair station. The other balloon was flying too close to me while landing.
