Narrative:
Challenger was climbing on the dfw 090 radial, approximately 40 DME, at 290 KIAS assigned when we encountered moderate to severe turbulence followed by and accompanied with a rapid roll rate. I don't believe that I stopped the roll but simply flew through the vortex. Then another roll in the opposite direction and more turbulence. Departure gave us a center frequency about that time and we reported the turbulence before we switched. The response was that we were following a 767 (and I believe he said at 6 mi). When we reported to center we asked about the 767 and were told he was at 12 O'clock and 10 mi. We still could not get a visual and didn't until we picked up his contrail at about FL300. We both leveled at FL330 but there were no further encounters.

Title: FLC OF MDT LOSES CTL OF ACFT FOR BRIEF PERIOD DURING ENCOUNTER WITH WAKE TURB FROM A B767 DURING CLB.
Narrative: CHALLENGER WAS CLBING ON THE DFW 090 RADIAL, APPROX 40 DME, AT 290 KIAS ASSIGNED WHEN WE ENCOUNTERED MODERATE TO SEVERE TURB FOLLOWED BY AND ACCOMPANIED WITH A RAPID ROLL RATE. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT I STOPPED THE ROLL BUT SIMPLY FLEW THROUGH THE VORTEX. THEN ANOTHER ROLL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND MORE TURB. DEP GAVE US A CTR FREQ ABOUT THAT TIME AND WE RPTED THE TURB BEFORE WE SWITCHED. THE RESPONSE WAS THAT WE WERE FOLLOWING A 767 (AND I BELIEVE HE SAID AT 6 MI). WHEN WE RPTED TO CTR WE ASKED ABOUT THE 767 AND WERE TOLD HE WAS AT 12 O'CLOCK AND 10 MI. WE STILL COULD NOT GET A VISUAL AND DIDN'T UNTIL WE PICKED UP HIS CONTRAIL AT ABOUT FL300. WE BOTH LEVELED AT FL330 BUT THERE WERE NO FURTHER ENCOUNTERS.
