Narrative:

Cruising at FL280, I noticed an 'oil strainer clogging' light on the annunciator panel. Went to the book and it said to reduce power and see if light goes out. It did not. Book said shut engine down. I did, and then advised ATC and declared an emergency. We had to descend to a lower altitude and go a little slower. Our destination seemed to be the best place to go, so we proceeded to pit (50 mins). Very long runways and good WX. Flight was uneventful after that. Very good handling by ATC. I also briefed the crew and told the passenger what was happening.
