Narrative:
While at tallahassee airport, I misunderstood some taxiing instructions. I was instructed to make a right onto the run- up pad to perform my run-up. I, however, being unfamiliar with the use of a run-up pad, made an immediate right and ended up on a dead-end road leading to the radar transmitter. The ground controller became concerned that I was not familiar with their operations enough to take off and asked to see me in the tower. I met with them in the tower where they explained to me the operations concerning that particular airport.
