Narrative:
Takeoff runway 28 bwi. Approximately 200 ft (gear in transit), 4 mallard ducks were ingested into the left engine. Vibration monitors indicated serious vibration. Bwi tower was notified and returned to bwi airport to land on runway 33L. Total time in air was less than 10 mins total time. The engine was not shut down due to all parameters monitored, ie, temperatures, N1, N2 oil pressure were normal. The vibration eliminated with reduced thrust. The controller was very helpful and efficient in handling this situation. There were no injuries, and no conflict.
