Narrative:
Upon takeoff, toga power at 50 KTS, a lift dumper unsafe warning sounded, (3 bell warning) I immediately rejected the takeoff with reverse thrust, but minimal braking to slow and clear the runway at midfield. The lift dumper fault had cleared itself prior to the stop. No maintenance is available at ilm and the warning had not continued, so I elected to perform the pre-takeoff checklist once again. With no discrepancies, once again we taxied back for takeoff again on runway 24. The takeoff was normal until climbing out of 2000 ft AGL then the 'lifted unsafe' warning occurred again on right MFDU. The procedure was accomplished. No abnormal aircraft performance was noted, and the flight continued to charlotte. I elected to land on the long runway 18R at charlotte, all proceeded normally, landing without lift dumpers. Our aircraft, an F-100 had performed normally for the 4 flts prior to this one, the lift dumper warning was at first intermittent (bad switch sensing expected). So that is why the flight was continued. Supplemental information from acn 276785: lift-dumper unsafe warning is a triple-chime alert and requires that we abort.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ABORTED TKOF, POSSIBLE FALSE WARNING.
Narrative: UPON TKOF, TOGA PWR AT 50 KTS, A LIFT DUMPER UNSAFE WARNING SOUNDED, (3 BELL WARNING) I IMMEDIATELY REJECTED THE TKOF WITH REVERSE THRUST, BUT MINIMAL BRAKING TO SLOW AND CLR THE RWY AT MIDFIELD. THE LIFT DUMPER FAULT HAD CLRED ITSELF PRIOR TO THE STOP. NO MAINT IS AVAILABLE AT ILM AND THE WARNING HAD NOT CONTINUED, SO I ELECTED TO PERFORM THE PRE-TKOF CHKLIST ONCE AGAIN. WITH NO DISCREPANCIES, ONCE AGAIN WE TAXIED BACK FOR TKOF AGAIN ON RWY 24. THE TKOF WAS NORMAL UNTIL CLBING OUT OF 2000 FT AGL THEN THE 'LIFTED UNSAFE' WARNING OCCURRED AGAIN ON R MFDU. THE PROC WAS ACCOMPLISHED. NO ABNORMAL ACFT PERFORMANCE WAS NOTED, AND THE FLT CONTINUED TO CHARLOTTE. I ELECTED TO LAND ON THE LONG RWY 18R AT CHARLOTTE, ALL PROCEEDED NORMALLY, LNDG WITHOUT LIFT DUMPERS. OUR ACFT, AN F-100 HAD PERFORMED NORMALLY FOR THE 4 FLTS PRIOR TO THIS ONE, THE LIFT DUMPER WARNING WAS AT FIRST INTERMITTENT (BAD SWITCH SENSING EXPECTED). SO THAT IS WHY THE FLT WAS CONTINUED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 276785: LIFT-DUMPER UNSAFE WARNING IS A TRIPLE-CHIME ALERT AND REQUIRES THAT WE ABORT.
