Narrative:
We were en route from msp to mdw. We had deviated east of course for WX and were proceeding direct to rfd VOR when TCASII issued a TA at our 10 O'clock position, 700 ft below and 2 mi. Traffic then climbed to our altitude whereupon an RA for a climb was issued. First officer disengaged autoplt and commenced a 500 FPM climb into the green band. The captain was continuing a visual search. A clear of conflict was issued and the aircraft uneventfully returned to level flight, whereupon the incident was reported to ATC.
