Narrative:
Flying from sav to moultric, GA, requesting vectors to avoid darkest thunderstorms, may have varied altitude and heading 300 ft due to turbulence and wind shears. Corrected same as was noted by ATC. VOR #1 failed. Radio communication #1 failed #1 VOR intermittent. #2 radio led failing making frequency change difficult. Vectors given by ATC to avoid thunderstorms forming all around, resulting in request to send aircraft to nearest field. Landed herlong field, jacksonville. The preflight with mcn FSS told of mostly VFR WX en route to moultric, GA, but thunderstorms would be scattered. Results were thunderstorms had formed preventing going to moultric, GA, or returning to sav due restr areas causing further vectoring to herlong field where I canceled and landed. Instrument and turbulent conditions prevailed until within 5 mi of herlong. In short, thunderstorms were proliferating as flight progressed making level flight and constant headings impossible or go through the cell. ATC was doing a good job trying to vector aircraft, but their radar just could not see the turbulence.

Title: TSTMS PREVENT ACFT FROM COMPLETING FLT TO DEST.
Narrative: FLYING FROM SAV TO MOULTRIC, GA, REQUESTING VECTORS TO AVOID DARKEST TSTMS, MAY HAVE VARIED ALT AND HDG 300 FT DUE TO TURB AND WIND SHEARS. CORRECTED SAME AS WAS NOTED BY ATC. VOR #1 FAILED. RADIO COM #1 FAILED #1 VOR INTERMITTENT. #2 RADIO LED FAILING MAKING FREQ CHANGE DIFFICULT. VECTORS GIVEN BY ATC TO AVOID TSTMS FORMING ALL AROUND, RESULTING IN REQUEST TO SEND ACFT TO NEAREST FIELD. LANDED HERLONG FIELD, JACKSONVILLE. THE PREFLT WITH MCN FSS TOLD OF MOSTLY VFR WX ENRTE TO MOULTRIC, GA, BUT TSTMS WOULD BE SCATTERED. RESULTS WERE TSTMS HAD FORMED PREVENTING GOING TO MOULTRIC, GA, OR RETURNING TO SAV DUE RESTR AREAS CAUSING FURTHER VECTORING TO HERLONG FIELD WHERE I CANCELED AND LANDED. INST AND TURBULENT CONDITIONS PREVAILED UNTIL WITHIN 5 MI OF HERLONG. IN SHORT, TSTMS WERE PROLIFERATING AS FLT PROGRESSED MAKING LEVEL FLT AND CONSTANT HDGS IMPOSSIBLE OR GO THROUGH THE CELL. ATC WAS DOING A GOOD JOB TRYING TO VECTOR ACFT, BUT THEIR RADAR JUST COULD NOT SEE THE TURB.
