Narrative:
Air carrier X on final following air carrier Y, a B757. Aircraft switched to tower with only 3 mi separation. Air carrier X was sent around by tower. Supervisor notified, no entry made on daily log. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated both aircraft were on ILS approachs. Visual approach not in use. Reporter stated N90 constantly ignores wake turbulence separation standards behind B757 and heavy aircraft.

Narrative: ACR X ON FINAL FOLLOWING ACR Y, A B757. ACFT SWITCHED TO TWR WITH ONLY 3 MI SEPARATION. ACR X WAS SENT AROUND BY TWR. SUPVR NOTIFIED, NO ENTRY MADE ON DAILY LOG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED BOTH ACFT WERE ON ILS APCHS. VISUAL APCH NOT IN USE. RPTR STATED N90 CONSTANTLY IGNORES WAKE TURB SEPARATION STANDARDS BEHIND B757 AND HVY ACFT.
