Narrative:
Experienced captain and new first officer in right seat flying just off of IOE, but experienced pilot with good attitude. Company had just announced massive layoffs. New first officer will be furloughed after being with the company only 6 weeks. Captain was unaffected but was still embroiled in a scheduling conflict for the day (just prior to military duty) and was unresolved on release time that night. Ramp departure was late because first officer was justifiably slow. Neither first officer or captain rushed, however tower cleared flight for takeoff right away. Taxi checklist was not complete and captain did both the first officer's and captain's switches while listening to the checklist and talking to tower. Captain taxied onto the wrong runway at the joint end of 2 runways. Tower cleared the flight for takeoff on the runway that had been incorrectly selected. Flight took off about a min later after all checklists complete. A brief explanation was given to tower. No other traffic was in the area and tower responded that there was no problem. Plain and simple the captain allowed himself to be rushed by ATC and overloaded himself. Next time we will just hold short and catch our breath, and leave the mental baggage of company problems behind.

Title: MDT TAXIES TO WRONG RWY, CTLR CLRS FOR TKOF ON WRONG RWY.
Narrative: EXPERIENCED CAPT AND NEW FO IN R SEAT FLYING JUST OFF OF IOE, BUT EXPERIENCED PLT WITH GOOD ATTITUDE. COMPANY HAD JUST ANNOUNCED MASSIVE LAYOFFS. NEW FO WILL BE FURLOUGHED AFTER BEING WITH THE COMPANY ONLY 6 WKS. CAPT WAS UNAFFECTED BUT WAS STILL EMBROILED IN A SCHEDULING CONFLICT FOR THE DAY (JUST PRIOR TO MIL DUTY) AND WAS UNRESOLVED ON RELEASE TIME THAT NIGHT. RAMP DEP WAS LATE BECAUSE FO WAS JUSTIFIABLY SLOW. NEITHER FO OR CAPT RUSHED, HOWEVER TWR CLRED FLT FOR TKOF RIGHT AWAY. TAXI CHKLIST WAS NOT COMPLETE AND CAPT DID BOTH THE FO'S AND CAPT'S SWITCHES WHILE LISTENING TO THE CHKLIST AND TALKING TO TWR. CAPT TAXIED ONTO THE WRONG RWY AT THE JOINT END OF 2 RWYS. TWR CLRED THE FLT FOR TKOF ON THE RWY THAT HAD BEEN INCORRECTLY SELECTED. FLT TOOK OFF ABOUT A MIN LATER AFTER ALL CHKLISTS COMPLETE. A BRIEF EXPLANATION WAS GIVEN TO TWR. NO OTHER TFC WAS IN THE AREA AND TWR RESPONDED THAT THERE WAS NO PROB. PLAIN AND SIMPLE THE CAPT ALLOWED HIMSELF TO BE RUSHED BY ATC AND OVERLOADED HIMSELF. NEXT TIME WE WILL JUST HOLD SHORT AND CATCH OUR BREATH, AND LEAVE THE MENTAL BAGGAGE OF COMPANY PROBS BEHIND.
