Narrative:
I elected to land runway 18 at sav due to WX west and east of airport. Winds were calm on final (240/4 at touchdown). A 40 degree flap landing with med autobrakes was completed touching down on speed 2200 ft from approach end of runway. Spoilers deployed and reverse thrust started with no apparent braking. Autobrakes were disengaged, full reverse thrust and maximum braking started. Aircraft appeared to slow until contacting the painted surface at far end of runway. Hydroplaning started again causing aircraft to slide 2 ft into the overrun section of runway. A runway threshold light was broken and a cut was made in the right nose tire. Emergency equipment responded as a precautionary. Ground personnel pushed the aircraft back and we proceeded to the gate under its own power. Standing water on the runway was not visible until after touchdown and was not reported by tower. Appropriate entry was made in the logbook.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF AN MLG LOST CTL OF THE ACFT ON LNDG ROLL WHEN IT HYDROPLANED OFF THE END OF THE WET RWY.
Narrative: I ELECTED TO LAND RWY 18 AT SAV DUE TO WX W AND E OF ARPT. WINDS WERE CALM ON FINAL (240/4 AT TOUCHDOWN). A 40 DEG FLAP LNDG WITH MED AUTOBRAKES WAS COMPLETED TOUCHING DOWN ON SPD 2200 FT FROM APCH END OF RWY. SPOILERS DEPLOYED AND REVERSE THRUST STARTED WITH NO APPARENT BRAKING. AUTOBRAKES WERE DISENGAGED, FULL REVERSE THRUST AND MAXIMUM BRAKING STARTED. ACFT APPEARED TO SLOW UNTIL CONTACTING THE PAINTED SURFACE AT FAR END OF RWY. HYDROPLANING STARTED AGAIN CAUSING ACFT TO SLIDE 2 FT INTO THE OVERRUN SECTION OF RWY. A RWY THRESHOLD LIGHT WAS BROKEN AND A CUT WAS MADE IN THE R NOSE TIRE. EMER EQUIP RESPONDED AS A PRECAUTIONARY. GND PERSONNEL PUSHED THE ACFT BACK AND WE PROCEEDED TO THE GATE UNDER ITS OWN PWR. STANDING WATER ON THE RWY WAS NOT VISIBLE UNTIL AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND WAS NOT RPTED BY TWR. APPROPRIATE ENTRY WAS MADE IN THE LOGBOOK.
