Narrative:
Nov/xx/93, the ASOS was commissioned in syracuse. The system is inadequate for use in the aviation industry. During severe or quickly changing WX, ASOS has been up to an hour behind current conditions. ASOS reports are inaccurate, or nonexistent during critical operations. In jan/94, I filed a ucr for the ASOS. I feel the ASOS may cause a serious problem for aircraft operations and/or jeopardize the safety of aircraft due to WX inaccuracies.
