Narrative:
Below V1 at approximately 110 KTS I aborted the takeoff on runway 28L. A master caution light came on annunciating an air condition temperature supply highlight was on. I mistakenly read the annunciator light as 'tail compartment temperature high' which is a master warning light annunciation. The rejected takeoff was completed and we returned to the gate for brake cooling and to remedy the caution light problem. After 15 yrs of practice rejected takeoff's I've become very good at them. Now our training requires us to be much more careful about what we choose as a valid reason for an rejected takeoff. It would be nice if my DC9 had some way to inhibit all but the most serious problems during takeoff for the annunciator system.
