Narrative:
Generator on a line aircraft was written up as inoperative. The generator was then 'maintenance deferred' and put on a category 'C' deferral -- meaning 10 days until repair required, in error. Proper category was 'B' for only 3 days until repair. Dmi was improperly done. Aircraft was subsequently flown beyond the legal time to fix of 3 days.
