Narrative:
Air carrier X flying cardi arrival into san from sjc, crossed lax and flew outbound on 148 degree radial instead of 118 degree radial as prescribed. The 148 degree radial is the radial inbound to mission bay VORTAC from cardi intersection which is the next fix. Captain was obtaining arrival ATIS during event. Had to listen to it several times due to bad transmission, therefore attention was diverted. ATC queried me about my course which brought my attention to my error. Corrective vector was assigned back to the arrival. There were no traffic conflicts. I recently transitioned to this airline due to an acquisition of my former airline. Previous airline had full FMS/RNAV capability. Also, I was not that familiar with the arrival, although it is a very simple arrival. It was also the last day of a 4 day trip. This was clearly a lack of situational awareness on my part and a failure to xchk my position and routing.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR X NON ADHERENCE TO ATC CLRNC -- FLEW WRONG RADIAL ON PUBLISHED ARR TO SAN.
Narrative: ACR X FLYING CARDI ARR INTO SAN FROM SJC, CROSSED LAX AND FLEW OUTBOUND ON 148 DEG RADIAL INSTEAD OF 118 DEG RADIAL AS PRESCRIBED. THE 148 DEG RADIAL IS THE RADIAL INBOUND TO MISSION BAY VORTAC FROM CARDI INTXN WHICH IS THE NEXT FIX. CAPT WAS OBTAINING ARR ATIS DURING EVENT. HAD TO LISTEN TO IT SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO BAD XMISSION, THEREFORE ATTN WAS DIVERTED. ATC QUERIED ME ABOUT MY COURSE WHICH BROUGHT MY ATTN TO MY ERROR. CORRECTIVE VECTOR WAS ASSIGNED BACK TO THE ARR. THERE WERE NO TFC CONFLICTS. I RECENTLY TRANSITIONED TO THIS AIRLINE DUE TO AN ACQUISITION OF MY FORMER AIRLINE. PREVIOUS AIRLINE HAD FULL FMS/RNAV CAPABILITY. ALSO, I WAS NOT THAT FAMILIAR WITH THE ARR, ALTHOUGH IT IS A VERY SIMPLE ARR. IT WAS ALSO THE LAST DAY OF A 4 DAY TRIP. THIS WAS CLRLY A LACK OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS ON MY PART AND A FAILURE TO XCHK MY POS AND ROUTING.
