Narrative:
Had just finished runup and was going to depart on runway 6 out of jxn. Had #2 radio set to 120.7 and had called out to all other traffic. No one responded so I entered the runway and proceeded to takeoff. Just after I was airborne, noticed a plane off to my left. Tried to reach him on #2 and got nothing. Switched to the #1 radio and got him. He informed me that he had been announcing his intentions on 120.7. I did not hear him until I switched radios. Later, I found out the #2 radio goes out now and then. It was my feeling that the other aircraft didn't use proper procedure for entering the pattern at jxn and was just coming straight- in for runway 24. The wind was calm but he still should have entered on a downwind. I should have had the frequency on both radios. But everything turned out all right.
