Narrative:
Listened to ATIS, it said taxiway C and D closed. We looked at commercial airport layout (aug 94) and were unable to locate taxiway C and D. We thought that ATIS was giving erroneous information or that taxiway was some obscure cargo area taxiway. We were cleared to land and hold short of crossing runway. Thought that we would help out by exiting the first high speed taxiway we came to, so I did. You guessed it -- low and behold taxiway C and D. Controller said that taxiway was closed but there were no barriers (they were letting stripes dry). Rechked airport diagram and the taxiway was not labeled C and D but an 'a' on the diagram. We mentioned this to controller who said airport signs were due to change soon, but the layout was shown without a future effective date. Was erroneous information sent to commercial publication? Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states he has not contacted commercial chart company at this point. The diagram misinfo has been discussed within his company pilot group.
